Dr. Nancy Havas joined the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in 2017 as the Associate Dean for Student Services in the Office of Student Affairs. She previously served as Associate Dean for Student Affairs at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While in Wisconsin, she held faculty appointments in Family and Community Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and the Department of Bioethics and Medical Humanities. Her clinical focus in in the care of the Geriatric and Palliative Medicine patient. During her tenure as a member of the faculty at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Dr. Havas was recognized by students and faculty members with awards for Humanism in Medicine, Outstanding Teaching Award, and induction in to the Society of Teaching Scholars, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, and the American Academy of Family Physicians Fellowship. She has served in multiple community leadership positions including President of the Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians Foundation and as Medical Director of the St. Camillus Home Hospice program. Her focus at FIU is in supporting the professional advancement and personal development and of students from their first day through the journey to becoming a physician.
