A New York City native and FIU alumnus, Ferdinand Gomez currently serves as the Director of the Human Anatomy Teaching Laboratories and Instructor in the Department of Cellular Biology and Pharmacology. Having previously served as the Coordinator and Instructor of the human anatomy and foundations physiology courses for the Department of Biological Sciences (College of Arts and Sciences), Mr. Gomez brings more than a decade of basic sciences instructional experience to the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
In 2013, he was the recipient of an FIU Excellence in Teaching Award at the annual faculty convocation and awards ceremony, while in 2005, he was the recipient of an Adjunct Excellence in Teaching Award. His responsibilities include the administration of the anatomy and pathology teaching laboratory facilities, along with the instruction of anatomy to medical students in periods 1-3.
