Frances Clemente is the Research Specialist for the Dimitroff lab in the Translational Glycobiology Institute at FIU (TGIF). Ms. Clemente graduated from Iowa State University with a major in Animal Ecology with the option Pre-Vet. After graduation she joined Orano Med in which she managed the animal facility, as well, as the tissue culture core. In joining the Dimitroff lab at TGIF, Ms. Clemente brings her experience in mouse modeling of cancer and immunotherapeutic methods. The Dimitroff lab is currently studying the role of glycosyltransferase, GCNT/2 in melanoma progression and immune modulation. Therefore, Ms. Clemente’s expertise in mouse handling, surgical techniques and experimental design will be critical in designing pre-clinical studies in the lab.
