Emily Jurich is a 3rd year psychology undergraduate student at Florida International University. She has been a Voluntary Research Assistant in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health since June 2018, and the President of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) on Campus since January of the same year. She leads several of NAMI Miami-Dade’s programs, such as the Ending the Silence initiative and the student-led Peer support group meetings. She has spoken on panels, and at events discussing the importance of advocacy for those who are affected by mental illness. Emily’s main research interest is advocacy and stigma within behavioral disorders. In the future, she intends to enroll in a clinical psychology PhD program specializing in research involving mood disorders.
