Student Support Services in the Office of Student Affairs at HWCOM provides personal counseling, consultation, and support to students experiencing academic and/or professional developmental challenges.
Student Support Services provides guidance and information for students as they progress through the medical student evaluation and promotion process. Students experiencing professional or ethical challenges can receive individual strength-focused professionalism coaching. Success-focused consultation helps students explore professional, research, leadership, and wellness opportunities.
The Director of Student Support Services facilitates the process for students seeking direction from the office. As an HWCOM faculty member, the Director is a liaison to multiple offices and units within the college of medicine, including the FIU Disability Resource Center, the HWCOM Office of Academic Affairs, the HWCOM Learning Specialist, the Medical Student Accommodations Committee, the Medical Student Counseling and Wellness Center, the HWCOM tutoring program, and all other Office of Student Affairs units and programs.
