Hey Artists,
The Mammography Art Initiative is hosting a Student Art Show Competition.
The Mammography Art Initiative was established in 2011 to address the need for better access to information about breast health as well as affordable breast health services for low-income women in Miami. Through the fundraising efforts of the previous two years' art shows, we have been able to raise over $50,000 in funds and services to sponsor mammograms, follow up care and breast health workshops for hundreds of women in South Florida. At this year’s art show, we hope to raise $25,000 in order to continue to provide education, mammograms and follow-up care while also expanding our resources in order to encompass a variety of other women’s health issues, such as cervical cancer prevention and screening.
Our show attracts a diverse audience of students and faculty, physicians in South Florida, philanthropists, and members of the Miami art community. Emerging and established artists donate the artwork; we also showcase and auction entries from our students as a student art contest. In addition, there is a silent auction, which provides local businesses with a unique opportunity to promote their products and services.
