The FIU Department of Radiology is based at Jackson North Medical Center, an integral part of the Jackson Health System and the primary clinical training site for the FIU College of Medicine. The hospital contains the full range of imaging equipment including 64-slice CT and 3T MRI 3D Ultrasound and Interventional Radiology. In addition it is a fully digital department with a PACS system and with voice-activated dictation system.

Vision: To be recognized as a premier provider of imaging services to the community, an invaluable component of the education of medical students and other healthcare staff and as a site for leading-edge imaging research.

• The primary mission of the department is the provision of the highest quality patient care. This should be through the use of appropriate technology in a manner that is prompt, compassionate, and cost-effective.
• To fully participate in the growth and mission of the FIU College of Medicine.
• To participate in the education of medical students, residents, technologists, faculty and fellow physicians.
• To engage in public service for the university and the community in support of the mission of the College of Medicine and the Jackson Health System.
• In that research is essential to strengthen the educational and clinical activities of the department, the search for new knowledge on the diagnosis and treatment of disease, along with the most effective way to provide care is a major priority for the department.
