Welcome to the Department of Humanities, Health & Society at the Florida International University College of Medicine, which includes two Divisions: Medicine & Society and Family Medicine.

Vision: To create the next generation of physicians trained in the community, accountable to the community, promoting health equity, and collaborating to deliver high quality, culturally competent care.

Mission: To graduate culturally competent physicians able to serve the region's diverse population as ethical, compassionate and collaborative individuals by integrating the biomedical, clinical, epidemiological, and social and behavioral sciences to address health problems, promote health, and improve health outcomes.

We will accomplish our Mission through innovative programs working together with patients, interdisciplinary teams, and university and community partners. Program components include:
