- Biography
- Dr. Nathaly S. Desmarais holds a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Health Psychology and Master's degrees in Mental Health Counseling and Clinical Psychopharmacology from Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale Florida. She became licensed in the state of Florida in 2009 and has worked in private practice, medical hospital settings, and college counseling centers. She completed her internship and post-doctoral residency in Clinical Psychology at Florida International University's Counseling and Psychological Services Center. Although she was formally trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy and humanistic psychology, in her clinical work she incorporates interpersonal, acceptance and commitment, and mindfulness-based therapies. She has extensive training in Biofeedback and her clinical interests include anxiety disorders, behavioral sleep medicine, behavioral health, and relaxation therapies. She is currently earning a Teacher Training Certification in Hatha Yoga. Her research interests include identifying behaviors and experiences that promote health, give rise to illness, and influence the effectiveness of health care, and empathy and burnout in medical professionals.
