Biography

Amy Metula is the Director of Quality Management of the Florida International University College of Medicine HealthCare Network (FIU-HCN). As Director of Quality Management, Ms. Metula is responsible for the establishment and oversight of the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine Quality Management Program. The position supports the achievement of clinical quality and patient safety priorities through quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives. Ms. Metula is also responsible for clinical compliance and regulatory requirements related to the overall performance improvement plan for the College of Medicine.

Prior to joining FIU Ms. Metula worked in quality, both in acute and ambulatory care settings, at the Weill Cornell College of Medicine and at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore. Ms. Metula is a registered nurse and an adult and geriatric nurse practitioner. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Arts in Nursing degree from New York University and has 10 years of clinical experience, largely focused on the care of oncology patients. Ms. Metula has also worked as a nurse manager and director in the acute care setting. Ms. Metula obtained her Masters of Business Administration from City University of New York, Zicklin School of Business.
