- Biography
Before coming to FIU, Bohyun Kim worked many years at Harvard University Libraries in web services, e-resources management, digitization, reference, and instructional technologies. She holds her M.A. in Philosophy from Harvard University and her M.S. in Library and Information Science from Simmons College. At FIU, she had obtained and managed the Express Library Digitization Grant from the National Network of Libraries of Medicine/Southeast Atlantic Region to digitize the archival materials from the early founding process of FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. She also created the Mobile App and the LibX toolbar for the FIU Medical Library.
She is active in professional organizations such as American Library Association and Library Information Technology Association. She was chosen as one of the two LITA-sponsored 2011 Emerging Leaders by American Library Association and awarded with the 2011 Code4Lib Minority Scholarship. She is also the founding editor of the TechConnect blog of American College and Research Libraries Association and regularly speaks at professional conferences on topics of usability and emerging technologies.
