As Founding Director of the College of Medicine Library, David W. Boilard applies a wealth of expertise and experience towards providing innovative, responsive medical library services.

A native of Massachusetts, he holds a Bachelor’s degree from Westfield State University, a Masters in Library Science from the University of Michigan, and a Masters in Public Health from the Northwest Ohio Consortium for Public Health. He received a Fellowship in Medical Informatics from the National Library of Medicine.

His career includes having worked for the University of Michigan, the University of South Dakota, and the University of North Dakota. Prior to FIU, he was Director of the Library at the Medical College of Ohio (Toledo) and Assistant Professor of Family Medicine.

His strong record of contribution to the library profession includes serving in leadership positions on numerous organizations and committees, and on several editorial boards. His contribution to the community includes involvement in health literacy, and board membership on a non-profit addiction rehabilitation organization.
