- Biography
Jan Crespo is Director of Network Services of the Florida International University (FIU) College of Medicine HealthCare Network (HCN). As Director of Network Services, Ms. Crespo is responsible for establishing and maintaining a high quality, cost effective provider network(s) that support strategic and operational goals of the FIU-HCN and the College of Medicine. These responsibilities include managing the credentialing process of physicians and allied health care providers, negotiating payer contracts on behalf of the College of Medicine clinical faculty and other University business units and developing department infrastructure to support business development and the Faculty Practice.
Ms. Crespo has over 20 years of experience in the South Florida health care market having worked in management positions at four managed care organizations in the area directing the provider contracting, education and service, and credentialing departments. In addition, Ms. Crespo worked at a law firm which specialized in health care related areas and represented numerous health care organizations including IPAs, PPOs, MSO, HMOs, and Peer Review Organizations. Ms. Crespo’s experience also includes working for a large hospital based (Anesthesia, Neonatology, Radiology and Emergency Department) physician practice groups, managing the credentialing and provider enrollment department as well as negotiating contracts with insurance companies and HMOs.
Ms. Crespo holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Work degree from Florida International University and is a Certified Professional in Medical Services Management (CPMSM).
